I think I’ve always thought of myself as a mix of contradictions and many things. So yes, I’m fluid, I couldn’t agree more. But it takes time and a hard work on your mind setting to get to that point ( I know my journey is really really long). Thanks for sharing this brilliant post with us ( I really needed to take a bit of time with myself)
Thank you so much for sharing your own reflections on this! So grateful. I always wonder how much each of us sees ourselves through the lens of contradiction. It definitely does take some reflection and effort to allow diverging things to coexist, but I think it can allow us to encompass more and explore more. I think it ultimately leads to some flavor of liberation -- being able to roam outside the lines. <3
Apparently yes! But, this is non-unique to rhizomes. Although, I did find out about something called a rhizosphere, "the zone of chemical, biological, and physical influence generated by root growth and activity." (stole that from Google; Pinton et al., 2007, Nature). And turns out that the rhizosphere is one possible 'communication' pathway for the plant-wide-web. (pulled that from Volkov et al., 2019, Bioelectrochemistry). Wow learning new things everyday.
Yanno, at one point I interviewed a couple scientists about 'plant cognition' - could be an interesting post.

This is so eloquent and thought provoking! The idea of fluidity has been on my mind so this has accompanied those thoughts well.
So glad it was well received and arrived at a serendipitous moment!
Didn't realize ginger and tumeric were rhizomes. Anyone know if they send electrical signals to each other like mycelium?

Why thank you!! :) Oh I like it -- simultaneous fulfilment and wanting more. Don't even get me started with the fractals!!
